Two new auxiliary vessels T. Mariotti has been awarded the construction of two new auxiliary vessels for the Italian Navy. The vessels are intended to.

AP Defence and T. Mariotti mark a milestone with the launch of Olterra, the shipyard’s first military programme for the Italian Navy.
AP Defence, which represents the T. Mariotti shipyard in the defence sector worldwide, celebrates the launch of Olterra in Genoa. Olterra is the first SDO-SuRS (Special and Diving Operations – Submarine Rescue Ship) built for the Italian Navy, and T. Mariotti’s first military vessel.
Olterra is 128 metres long and 24 metres wide, with integrated electric propulsion and a DP3 dynamic positioning system. It can accommodate up to 200 people, including COMSUBIN operators. The ship is designed to rescue submarines in distress, support special underwater operations and protect critical underwater infrastructure. Delivery to the Italian Navy is scheduled for 2027.
For AP Defence, Olterra marks T. Mariotti’s successful entry into the defence sector and confirms the strength of a partnership built on shared expertise and trust. It opens a new chapter for both companies in the naval domain, one that continues with the two auxiliary vessels now under construction for the Italian Navy.
